The Future of Data Centre Electrical Grid Impacts
The rapid expansion of data centres to support AI, cloud computing, and digitization is reshaping electricity demand and challenging grid planning. Energeia’s research highlights the
In 2018, the Senate established the Select Committee on Electric Vehicles to inquire into the use and manufacture of electric vehicles in Australia. Their report provides 17 evidence-based recommendations to the Australian Government which aim to help Australia accelerate EV uptake, while also managing the risks, and support Australian industry to capitalise on the significant opportunities presented by a transition to EVs.
The committee relied heavily on Energeia’s Electric Vehicle Marketing Study for the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) and Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) when developing their recommendations, which focused on the role of the government in facilitating the transition to electric vehicles in Australia, as well as modelling the likely uptake and electricity network impacts of electric vehicle charging under a range of policy scenarios.
